Self-Help Podcasts That Will Actually Improve Your Life

Listening to podcasts on a regular or weekly basis could be your new favorite self-care practice.

Self-actualization or self-help have become popular words now, which have gone beyond what it was a few years ago, leaning more towards the productivity and discipline aspect of things.

It’s normal to feel like you’re lacking in productivity when you get sidetracked sometimes in your routines. Rather than putting additional pressure on yourself on already difficult days, you should give yourself time to grieve as needed. If you’re currently looking for motivational resources during these times, you might want to consider listening to a handful of the most inspirational podcasts for women.

There’s a podcast for just about everything these days, whether you’re looking for recaps of your favorite reality show, mindful practice tips, or murder mysteries. The six podcasts that I list ahead have something to offer people who could benefit from open and heartfelt talks from people who’ve experienced and overcome difficult times.

Find your happy!

A one-stop podcast for all things self-love, empowerment, confidence building, and everything in between. This came out in 2019, but hey, better late to the party than never lol. I recently found out about this podcast and was easily able to binge all 14 episodes – a little too fast if you ask me. I really wish there were more episodes! I felt like she was speaking to me directly in every episode, literally.

Abnormal is the new normal.

Jacque’ Allen, 2019

Everyone needs that “big sister” like Jacque to help encourage them through life. I love that she shares personal standpoint experiences to motivate and inspire others to achieve their personal and business goals. It’s real, honest, and easy to listen to.

Her advice has had an impact on my life and has helped me shift my focus to a more positive way of thinking. Trust me, there’s something for everyone in these episodes, no matter what stage of life you’re in. Honestly, can’t wait to hear more!

Let's Grow and Glow into a better you.

The Hardcore Self Help

Dr. Robert Duff (Duff the Psych)

This is a weekly podcast dedicated to answering your questions about mental health, anxiety, depression, relationships, sex, and life WITHOUT psychobabble BS.

Released every Thursday morning, you will find information about everything from how to deal with anxiety and depression, to relationships, addiction, and LIFE in general. I talk to you just like I do in my books: like a friend. Life is hard enough to handle; you don’t need complicated jargon screwing it all up for you.

Episode count: 98

Now Dr. Duff legitimately wants to help out! Unlike many self-help and mental health podcasts out there, the Hardcore Self Help Podcast is hosted by a REAL psychologist with actual experience and graduate education with these topics.

Dr. Duff has a great way of not only explaining psychological concepts but explaining life in general. He doesn’t use giant doctor words, he just talks to you like a friend trying to help out. His books and podcasts are definitely worth checking out.

He’s also written the best selling books Hardcore Self Help: F**k Depression and Hardcore Self Help: F**K Anxiety.

Hardcore Self Help is for people that normally hate self-help books. If you are feeling like you are at the end of your rope and you just need a quick, straightforward read that can actually help, these books are worth getting. There are plenty of huge, wordy, psychobabble workbooks out there. Those are great for many people, but for someone who is exhausted from putting on a good face every day and trying to push forward in life while screaming on the inside… the last thing you need is an intimidating book.
