1. Pinterest

If you only use this app for room decorating ideas or outfit inspiration, you’re probably wondering why this app made the list. There is much more to Pinterest than people realize and in my opinion, it’s a very underestimated app. Although it is formatted like other social media apps, Pinterest is actually a search engine, like Google.

This powerful blogging tool allows your quality content to have a better chance of reaching more people – ultimately increasing exposure and creating value. Majority of my page views on my blog come from Pinterest, about 60-70%. I started my business account in May and currently (September 2021), I have 2.8 monthly viewers and 42k followers, organically, meaning I didn’t pay for any ads or promotions!

For all bloggers, it is certainly a must have. Pinterest Analytics helps you to truly get to know your audience. This latest tool exposes your audience’s demographics and mutual desires, helping you to interact with them more strategically. Some distributors have also said that traffic and referral information from Pinterest helps them to better predict potential demand for various goods, thus increasing performance and reducing losses.

My most popular pin was actually about this post!

Pinterest is the social media site for you, if your brand audience mainly consists of women. All forms of content on Pinterest is pinned, from food and health to technology and humor.

I believe you too can grow your monthly viewers and following so I give my main tips for my success on Pinterest, here.

2. Tailwind

I know I said this is for free apps, but I absolutely had to add this one to the list. Nonetheless, there is a free trial that lets you post up to 100 pins on Pinterest!

Grow smarter on Pinterest and Instagram with this social media scheduling tool that gets real results in less time. This app is such a life and time saver! Manually posting and scheduling pins daily can be very time consuming and overwhelming but Tailwind allows you to sit back and watch as you build a whole new source of traffic with its automatic scheduling feature. For many Tailwind members, Pinterest traffic rivals or even exceeds organic search! I’m living proof that Tailwind can effectively increase your engagement, followers, and monthly viewers. See for yourself:

The above image is a screenshot from September 2020. Comparing it to where my account is currently (September 2021), it took about a year for my followers to more than double! My monthly viewers did decrease, only because I wasn’t consistent with posting for some time and I did niche down! In no time, I’ll reach my goals of averaging 10m+ monthly viewers and 50k followers.

3. Canva

A great alternative to the Tailwind Create feature, you can use this amazing app to ease your designing process.

Who needs to spend money on Fiverr when you can create beautiful designs on your own, for free! I create literally ALL my pins and designs on this app because of how seamless and simple it is to use. Whether you’re looking for a YouTube thumbnail, Instagram post, or a Pinterest pin, they have absolutely great graphics for any social media platform.

This incredible app has a huge selection of beautiful templates, fonts, and colors at your fingertips. I used to think I needed to hire someone to create creative pins and posts but with all the endless designs to customize and make your own, I quickly realized this wasn’t necessary. Not to mention, you can post directly to Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter with just a few button clicks.

A true life changing tool! One of the most well thought out apps I’ve ever seen. I’m always getting compliments on my pins and I’ve even had people ask me to create designs for them. So kudos for all the love and effort that Canva has put into its development! I’ll forever use this app for all of my designs!

If you have creative block, then Canva has a Design School with a bunch of events, courses, and tutorials accessible to Canva users. Anyone can make beautiful designs with Canva and these courses help you express yourself artistically.

Here are a few of my designs:

Like what you see? Thank you, I worked hard on them 🙂

4. Instagram

This app needs no introduction. Since Instagram is so accessible nowadays, your’e able to reach a wide variety of people and collaborate with people you may have only imagined. Over the years, this app has advanced in its marketing tools and introduction of new ways to advertise your brand. If you’re looking to turn your blog into a business and eventually collaborate with other influencers and bloggers, then Instagram is the app to use.

I’ve realized now that Instagram is a necessity for any blogger seeking to be successful in working with brands. I recently created an instagram account for my blog which I’ll link here for those you want to check it out! I’m still figuring how to grow my following and engagement, but once I master this, I’ll make a post about it. Despite the recent complaints about Instagram’s algothrithm issues,  there’s no denying that it’s one of the largest growing social media platform for bloggers. Instagram has recently come under a lot of negative light due to its algorithm problems and what not, there is no denying that bloggers are the biggest growing social media site.

I know Tailwind is already mentioned on this list, but I just can’t get over this app! With this Tailwind feature, you can drive traffic from Instagram with your bio link by creating a branded landing page that sends a never-ending stream of traffic from your Instagram bio to your most important content.

Now you’ve probably seen a ‘link.tre’ link in the bio of some of your favorite instagram influencers. This is the same thing, but you’ll have ‘smart.bio” in front instead.

5. Snapseed

Snapseed | Are You a Blogger or Influencer? You Need These 10 Apps Now | khaamisa

Photos and pictures play vital roles in our lives. Ultimately, they are those glimpses of our past which we want to cherish and keep with our selves for the rest of our lives. Now when we suggest that for the rest of our lives we want to capture and hold a moment, it’s very clear that we’re more likely to keep those memories in the very best quality possible. We’d like to keep the moment’s original essence caught in a picture.

But… you ever take want to take a nice picture but it ends up not turning out how you expected because of, let’s say, poor lighting? Well with the help of certain photo editing apps, like Snapseed, you can very easily bring that required originality to your captured photo which is both convincing and soothing to your mind in many levels. 6. PLANOLY

Planoly | Are You a Blogger or Influencer? You Need These 10 Apps Now | khaamisa

PLANOLY was the first visual planner for Instagram – homegrown and beautifully crafted to be simple, clean and easy to use. Another great social marketing app for Facebook and Pinterest.

The app was first started in 2016 and has grown into the industry-leading social marketing platform trusted by 4.7 million users to visually plan, schedule, and measure performance across Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. The creators believed that social marketing shouldn’t be a taboo or as complicated as it may seem for people. It’s built from a brand’s perspective so this app is catered to content creators and bloggers like us.

7. Caption & Hashtag App

Coming up with captions is tiresome and can be draining sometimes. Content creation often takes time, but it doesn’t have to be that way. There are several apps out there that help you come up with clever captions. The one I recently downloaded is called “Caption & Hashtag for likes” in the App Store.

caption & hashtag | Are You a Blogger or Influencer? You Need These 10 Apps Now | khaamisa

Caption & Hashtag is the best source of captions & hashtags for your posts & stories on Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, Twitter, and more. the right caption is just a quick search away. Browse categories or look for the keywords that best suit your niche. This app offers awesome captions to accompany your thoughts, feelings, favorite moments with lovers and friends, morning lattes or countless selfies. Select from a wide variety of famous quotes from celebrities or influencers, lyrics of your favorite songs, and hilarious puns to make your followers laugh.

The complete post editor lets you add groups of hashtags, count the number of characters, and fix the line break issues we all face on Instagram. You’ll also be able to find the best hashtags tailored to your account to ensure you use the right ones that will actually bring you more visibility. Stop using hashtags blindly and discover the real way to grow.

8. Facebook

Facebook | Are You a Blogger or Influencer? You Need These 10 Apps Now | khaamisa

Never in a million years did I think I’ll ever use Facebook, but here I am now promoting my blog on there from time to time. I’ve heard nothing but great stories from people that have received positive results. With Facebook Ads and groups, you can reach a wide range and variety of people with simply the click of a few buttons.

I advise creating a separate page for your blog instead of using your personal account. For one, you don’t have any following restrictions, and it’s a better for organization. With more than 2 billion active monthly users (yes, billion with a B), your engagement will skyrocket in no time.

10. Twitter

I have yet to make a Twitter for my blog but I know it’s a great way to promote content and engage with a wide range of people. It’s a great platform to immerse yourself with the blogging community as I’ve heard they’re quite supportive. I’ve did my research and have found several blogging communities on this app, such as ‘GRLPOWR, FBL Bloggers, and Melanin Bloggers to name a few. I want to master and understand the algorithm’s of my other social media before I dive into this one.

This social platform allows brands and users to communicate, similar to instagram, expect via tweets. This can be a powerful way to market your blog and find your target niche and audience.

UPDATE: I finally made an account for my blog this year! FMOT @khaamisablog

9. VSCO

VSCO | Are You a Blogger or Influencer? You Need These 10 Apps Now | khaamisa

Last, but certainly not least, VSCO!

VSCO is a creative channel with creative tools and connections driven by self-expression. It supports the creative journey from start to finish — not only providing photographers with tools, but also with the education, community, and connections required to unlock their potential. Essentially, this is a safe space to let your creative juices run wild as you discover new perspectives and also share your own.

I’m constantly on this app because of all the beautiful presets and easy-to-use editing tools like contrast, saturation, and grain. I would highly recommend this app to you all. It always has my pictures looking nice and aesthetically pleasing.
